photo taking tips
Get in close, just be careful not to get so close that you cut off the subject.

Try different angles for a fresh new look. Hold the camera at the same level as your subjects and turn it sideways for vertical shots.

Check what is in the background. Sometimes the background can add texture, but other times it can be distracting. Look around your subject. Is there a pile of laundry nearby? Try simply moving around a bit so there are no distractions in view.

Make sure there is plenty of lighting! Many digital cameras take poor quality photos in dim light situations. Try taking photos with and without the flash so you have several to choose from, then you can be sure to get one that is not blurry or grainy.

Know your resolution. If you are using a digital camera be sure to check your settings and be sure you are saving high resolution pictures. Consult your camera's manual if you are unsure where to look.
